Spring Fling 2008

I competed at the Spring Fling hosted by Columbia River Gymnastics Center on Saturday March 22, 2008. I did great and took the First Place of all age groups with a score of 37.525. I got 9.35 on Bars (1st Place), 9.775 on Beam (1st Place), 9.50 on Floor (1st Place) and 8.95 on Vault (2nd Place). I was so excited the beam score was my highest in this season! It was awesome to compete with my Level 6 friends (Lillie, Karsyn, Abby, Lexi and Katie), they were lots of fun! Our team took 1st Place and everyone took home a yellow chrysanthemum, just perfect for spring planting in the garden! We went out for a late lunch, then we stopped by the Portland waterfront to enjoy the spring cherry blossoms. The trees were so beautiful and we've got to run around and take pictures!

Emerald Team Challenge

I went to the Emerald Team Challenge at Cottage Grove, Oregon on Sunday March 9, 2008. It was an awesome meet and I had my best AA score of 38.475 this season! I took 5 First Places: 1st Place on Vault 9.50, 1st Place on Bars 9.525, 1st Place on Beam 9.75, 1st Place on Floor 9.65 and 1st Place All Around 38.475! Our team took 3rd Place. I was so excited my coaches Ms. Erika and Dimitri were able to watch me compete at this meet, I tried my VERY BEST!!! It was a long meet, we didn't get home until 11:00 pm at night and I was so tired!!

100 Days of School

We celebrated the "100 Days of School" on Friday February 29, 2008! I brought 100 colorful mini marshmellows, other kids in the class brought 100 cheerios, 100 gold fish crackers, 100 pennies, etc. The teacher also gave us 100 mini stickers to decorate our special glasses in the shape of 100. The last thing we needed to do was to design a building by using 100 toothpicks and 100 mini marshmellows. It was so fun!

Reward Time!

I did well in the class and was rewarded with a "Lunch with the Principal". We had fun eating lunch together and got to know each other more! I told my Mom after school that Mrs. Abbate gave me a pen, she said it sounded like a compliment of my penmanship. When I showed her the pen, she said "Wooow, it's not just a pen, it's a PEN! " (Well, it may be just a teeny tiny BIG for my little hand!)

Icicle Invitational at Westside

Yeah, I had so much FUN competing with my Level 6 friends (Lillie, Karsyn, Abby and Katie) at the Icicle Invitational at Westside Gymnastics Academy on February 23, 2008! It was a great meet and I took the 1st Place All Around with a score of 37.60. I got 9.25 on Vault (1st Place), 9.50 on Bars (1st Place), 9.45 on Beam (1st Place) and 9.40 on Floor (1st Place). Our Team also got 1st Place! However, I was sad to find out this might be Katie's last meet of the season.

MAC Open

I had a WONDERFUL meet at the MAC Open on Sunday February 17, 2008! It was really fun and I took First Place All Around with a score of 37.70. I got 9.30 on Vault (1st Place), 9.325 on Bars (3rd Place), 9.65 on Beam (1st Place) and 9.425 on Floor (1st Place). I was so excited when my Bar Coach Dimitri come and cheer for me, yeah! He doesn't come to my meets and he made my day by giving me a big hug and wished me Good Luck! Our team took 4th Place and I was the only one to get the team trophy because all the other girls had left already! I love gymnastics, it's fun, fun, fun!!!!!

Rock 'n' Roll Classic at Naydenov

I had a GREAT meet at the Rock 'n' Roll Classic at Naydenov Gymnastics on February 2, 2008. This is our first home meet and it was so FUN! I competed with my friends and my AA score was 37.90 (2nd Place in my Age Group and All Ages). I scored 9.60 on Floor (1st Place), 9.65 on Bars (2nd Place), 9.50 on Beam (2nd Place) and 9.15 on Vault (2nd Place). My coach Ms. Erika could not stay for my session but she gave me and my Mom a big hug and wished me the Best Luck before she left!

Go For the Gold at Black Hill

I am a Level 5 this year and had my first meet at Black Hill Gymnastics on January 12, 2008. I was nervous since I didn't know any other girls in Trisha's Team but I did my best with an AA score of 35.45 (7th Place). I scored 9.25 on Bars (2nd Place), 8.90 on Beam (5th Place), 8.70 on Floor (7th Place) and 8.60 on Vault (9th Place). I was surprised after I found out I competed with the 9-yr old Level 5 State Champion and Team from the Fall Session.
